Quick-Quick was also adopted when I was still living at home.  My mother named him (after deciding against Quayle - it was around the time of the 1988 elections), after the way she calls her animals, "Come Virgil!  Quick!  Quick!"

Quick-Quick is a wonderful, good-natured cat.  He gets along with almost everyone - except Darwin.  I think the problem between him and Darwin is that Quick-Quick was blind by the time we got Darwin.  Because he is blind, Quick-Quick tends to walk into the other cats.  Orion grew used to him as he gradually went blind, and Bucca grew up with him, but I think Darwin takes it as a sign of aggression that Quick-Quick violates his space.  I've put a bell on Darwin, and that helps a bit.

Unlike Orion, Quick-Quick's favorite place is under anything.  He also hates to be picked up, but will gladly settle down in your lap if it's his decision to jump up.  Yes, he still does jump - his favorite window is in the downstairs bathroom, and I've put a perch in the window for the cats.  Quick-Quick can smell an open window anywhere in the house, and is quick to jump up into the window to get some fresh air.  He may not be able to see the birds and squirrels, but he can hear them and smell them!

Quick-quick went to the Rainbow bridge in November 2005.
