We adopted Orion when I was still living at home, so her name is part of my mother's alphabet. I decided on Orion because her coloring (all black except for a small white patch on her belly) made me think of stars. Orion isn't exactly a feminine name, but she doesn't seem to mind. Orion's favorite place is anywhere high. To get across a room, she won't just stroll across the floor... she will plan her moves very carefully, then go from sofa to chair to table, or refrigerator to table to cat condo, etc. She loves to sleep on top of the refrigerator best of all. I think she just likes to look down on her subjects (her nickname is Princess)! Orion would be much happier as an only child. She loves people, but pretty much ignores dogs and other cats. For some reason, though, she fascinates dogs! Audi used to stand and stare at her sleeping, like she was waiting for Orion to make a move. Edgar will also stop what he's doing a watch her. Orion moved with us to Florida, but she was pretty old. We had to send her to the Rainbow Bridge in 2002.
